1/18/2024 0 Comments Brave disney foodI was expecting a SWEET bun and it was more of a dinner roll with icing. Now, the sweet buns look really pretty, but I was not happy with the recipe I used. Haha! Click here Baked Scotch Eggs for the recipe Maybe it’s their little fingers, but they are so good at it. My kids happen to get the biggest kick out of peeling hard boiled eggs and loved helping with this part of the dinner. The Scottish eggs were a big hit! They were so easy to make too. This treat is all that you would need for an easy and quick movie night. They are perfect for keeping you warm on a cold winter day.įor breakfast, I treated the kids to some Bear Claws from Panera. I kept the leftovers and used my favorite pie crust recipe to make individual meat pies (click here for the recipe). We started this movie night a day early by making some of King Fergus’s Beef Stew. As long as you’re spending some magical time with your family, that’s all that matters! So, keep that in mind when you read this, you could do one of these ideas, all of them, or skip them all together and add your own passions. I know my kids would be happy just eating popcorn watching a Disney movie as long as I’m unplugged from my phone and focusing on them and the movie. My passion is cooking, so that’s what I tend to focus on the most. I’ve been struggling coming up with some easy alternatives to our movies nights that won’t keep you in the kitchen the whole day, I never want our movie nights to seem intimidating. I’ve been wanting to do this movie for the longest time, but just didn’t know how to do it justice. First up, the beautiful mother daughter story, Brave. This was definitely one of the most fun parties I have EVER put together - and my daughter’s sheer glee at the event made every ounce of sweat and money spent worth it.Hi there! It’s been a month of Sundays since we’ve done a Movie Night, but we moved into our new home and finally starting to get back into the grooves of things. :) Lastly, the bear paw cookies were actually a gluten free option based on a delicious recipe from Elana’s Pantry since several members of my family and friends are allergic to wheat. and I was pretty darn excited about how they turned out. The “Merida hair” licorice and willo the wisp cotton candy cups were random strokes of genius while strolling through the aisles at Smart n’ Final. And it tasted even better than it looked, which was quite a feat! I also hired Posh Desserts to provide the bear cub cake pops to represent Merida’s triplet brothers in the film - they were cute, perfect, delicious little bites of goodness. Regarding food, I was thrilled to find a local baker who used the invitation as the inspiration for the cake design. By far, the biggest hit of the day was the willo the wisp hunt - the girls went wild for it! My daughter was thrilled to be included in the painting of both the Crafty Carver bead box and archery target (which also served as a dessert table backdrop), and also helped assemble the “willo the wisp” candies. We had a Crafty Carver beading station, a archery contest, and a willo the wisp hunt - all very in keeping with Merida’s story. I had a particularly fun time planning the party activities. Once Jessica Flynn of Capture Photography nailed the design down, I was off and rolling. So, we went with that and made the wild Merida hair one of our design focal points. I think it’s the hair, since my daughter also has wild red hair. This is what Bethany said about planning the party– “My daughter, Abby, is in loooooove with Merida from Disney’s Brave….she loves the movie as a whole, but is particularly enchanted with Merida herself.
